Most existing space stations in the *Atlas Galaxy* are built and operated by *The Company*. Its affiliate worker program helped it secure a quasi-monopoly on the extraction and processing of natural resources after the buyout of its competitor United Industries. It maintains long-term partnerships with *The Republic* as well as other conglomerates. It is currently headed by *Martin J. Miller*.
